Fictions consists of video snapshots from the procession of the Epitaph in one of the Greek Orthodox churches of Chicago. In Fictions animated frames, repetitive symbols, crosses and flags are accompanied by the specific sound mix of church bells' echoes and the Greek national anthem as a comment on the interrelations between religion and ethnic identity in their contact with the "Other". Referring to the specific moment when the epitaph is escorted out of the Greek church to be processed to the American neighborhoods, the video represents on the level of meaning and symbol the 'critical' moment when the Greek-Orthodox identity comes in contact with the environment of the "Other".
